Entrepreneurial Orientation.

·         Demonstrates competence in identifying and commercializing opportunities
·         Is willing to take calculate risks to achieve a recognized benefit or advantage.
·         Develop and market new products and services within or outside of the organization
·         Demonstrates enterprising mindset and entrepreneurial passion for business.

Situaner: A sales executive must be quick in identifying opportunities to prepare for contingency plans and to be able to maneuver as the situation dictates.

Skill Builders Program:

1.      Attend conferences or seminars addressing business processes in the public and private sectors. 
2.      Read books and other publications to gain insight into how successful businesses are developed. i.e. Entrepreneur Business Magazine.
3.      Check the Internet and newspapers for ideas, technology, trends and opportunities. i.e. Teen Millionaires
4.      Develop a "branding" strategy for your department or office.
5.      Start a small business in your home.
6.      Confront something that frightens you.
7.      Prepare a Feasibility Study of a potential product or concept.
8.      Develop an OFI, Opportunity for Improvement, department in your organization.
9.      Design a survey or focus group interview to identify opportunities.
10.  Develop a list of Opportunity for your organization
11.  Establish networks with business people known for their business acumen and risk taking.

Illustration:

A sales executive observing the influx of Korean tourists in Laoag with a fascination for papaya soap. He immediately negotiates for a tactical display on a supermarket in the city where the Koreans shop. Having an insight on the niche and acting on it, the sales executive improved his business in the area.
